Rock Band Tryouts - Here's what you do

If you are auditioning for Rock Band this week, this is what you have to do. Remember that it doesn't have to be perfect, I'm just looking for how quickly you can learn something. I might be showing you how to do it during the audition.

As a note, keep in mind that each of the two bands have 12-15 students that want to join but I only have room for 8 to 9 students in each band. Preference will be given to grade 5 and 6 students as they only have one to two years left to play with the band whereas the grade 4's have 3 more years at Bloomfield. If you don't get into the band this year then you will be in the band next year!

Vocals: Song of your choice. Must have a youtube "karaoke" version to use for singing.

Drums: Basic rock beat using the bass drum, snare drum and hihat. Music is here. x is hihat, lowest note is kick drum, middle note is snare.

Guitar: Play (strum) through these basic chords. You only have to use the three skinniest strings to play.

Piano: Same chords as the guitar. You'll also need to show me a C Major scale and one other scale of your choice.

Music X-Change - What do you have to include?

Hi folks,
Here are the things you should mention when doing your music exchange:

*Artist/Band
*Name of Song
*Lyrics- favorite line
*Info on artist/band
*Instruments
Musical information (key, tempo, rhythm)
*Why you like the song
Additional Notes/Comments

The parts with the * beside them must be included. All other parts can be added if you like. Please make sure you choose a song that is appropriate (no bad words or bad images) for school. We can use a "clean" video on Youtube if you cannot find an appropriate version of your song.
